Display Mounts

Many beadwork collectors have expressed a need for an attractive way to hang their beaded art without harming the fabric or beads. Mrs. Berry's husband has created some very attractive and handy wall display mounts for bandolier bags and sashes. The display mounts are made of brass, leather and slightly distressed wood. (He likes to say the wood is not really distressed, just a little worried.) The distressing gives the wood a nice aged look, to complement the beadwork.

We are grateful to Dave Berry for coming up with such an innovative way to show off Southeastern Woodlands beadwork. The display mounts sell for $100.00/each, plus shipping and handling, and measure approximately 9"x12"x2".

Here is how they work:

Step 1:
Lay the Bandolier Display Mount on a flat surface.

Step 2:
Gently remove the wooden peg from the brass loop, and open the hinged flap of the display mount.

Step 3:
Lay the center of the bandolier bag strap across the mount, with the beads facing down, the lining facing up.

Step 4:
VERY, VERY GENTLY close the hinged flap. NOTE: THESE ARE GLASS BEADS! PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT CRACK OR CRUSH THE BEADS! THE BRASS LOOP ON THE DISPLAY MOUNT CAN BE LOOSENED OR TIGHTENEED, A 1/2-TURN AT A TIME, UNTIL IT IS TIGHT ENOUGH TO HOLD THE BAG IN PLACE, BUT LOOSE ENOUGH NOT TO CRACK OR CRUSH THE BEADS.

Step 5:
Reinsert the wooden peg into the brass loop. Hang the mounted bag on the wall like you would a painting. (The display mounts come complete and ready to hang.)

Note:
Never display textiles in direct sunlight. The sunlight will fade the colors and age the fabric prematurely.
